André Maurois, właśc. Émile Salomon Wilhelm Herzog – pisarz francuski, autor wielu biografii i książek dla dzieci. „André Maurois” to pseudonim, który stał się oficjalnym nazwiskiem pisarza w 1947.

W czasie I wojny światowej zaciągnął się do armii francuskiej, gdzie początkowo służył jako tłumacz, a następnie oficer łącznikowy. Jego pierwszą powieścią było Les silences du colonel Bramble , na którą składały się krótkie opowiadania pełne międzykulturowych dialogów filozoficznych, dla których tłem jest wojna.

W 1938 André Maurois został członkiem Akademii Francuskiej. Podczas drugiej wojny światowej służył w armii francuskiej.

Zmarł w 1967. Pochowany został na cmentarzu komunalnym Neuilly-sur-Seine niedaleko Paryża.
